FileWeave Privacy Policy ======================= Last updated: October 19, 2026 1. Scope -------- FileWeave is a folder-automation application from Mantiqo LLC ("Mantiqo", "we", or "us"). This notice describes the 0.2.0 desktop edition for macOS and Windows, including its trial and paid-activation requests. It is not an announcement that a download or purchase is available. FileWeave has no advertising, analytics, telemetry, or built-in cloud sync. It does not send your files, filenames, watched paths, rule definitions, or activity to Mantiqo. Licensing requests are separate from file processing. 2. Files and local configuration ------------------------------- FileWeave reads metadata for regular files in the folders you choose to watch. Rules can use names, extensions, size, and age. Enabled actions can read, copy, move, rename, or send matching files to the operating system's Trash or Recycle Bin. File contents may be read to carry out or verify an operation, but are not uploaded to Mantiqo or an AI service. A local fileweave.sqlite3 database stores watched paths, rule definitions, processing fingerprints used to avoid repeated work, and bounded activity. Activity can include filenames, source and destination paths, rule names, timestamps, outcomes, and error details. This data stays in your application profile. The bundled webview and operating system may also keep local caches and diagnostics. The database is not an application-level encrypted vault. Software with access to your user account, an administrator, or a backup service may be able to read it. Keep the live database local, rather than on a network share. If you select a network folder, filesystem traffic uses your operating system's network connection. If a watched or destination folder is managed by a cloud-sync service, that service can transfer the files and metadata under its own settings and policy. These are not FileWeave cloud uploads. Versioned JSON exports contain watched-folder and rule configuration, including paths. They do not contain activity or processing history, login-startup registrations, purchase keys, or license receipts. Review an export before sharing it. Import requires path review; imported rules are disabled and receive new identifiers. 3. Trial and paid activation --------------------------- Trial and license requests use HTTPS to licenses.winpolish.app. Starting or restoring a trial sends the product identifier and a product-specific SHA-256 hash derived from the machine identity. It does not send the underlying machine identifier, your files, or your rule activity. This device hash is pseudonymous, not a promise of anonymity. The service keeps the trial identifier and original start/end for that product family and device, so reinstalling or removing local files does not restart the seven-day period. A local signed trial receipt and observed-time marker allow use only until the original deadline. Paid activation sends the product and device identifiers plus the purchase key; renewal sends the signed renewal receipt. The service verifies the product-specific Polar entitlement and returns a signed, product/device-bound receipt. The app stores the receipt locally with a server-encrypted renewal grant, not a plaintext purchase key. No merchant credentials or receipt-signing private keys are included in the application. A paid receipt permits up to 30 days offline and is renewed periodically while FileWeave runs. This is cached proof of paid access, not an extra trial period. No file contents, filenames, watched paths, rules, or activity accompany trial, activation, or renewal requests. Hosting providers process ordinary connection metadata for delivery, security, and operations. The trial service's rate limits use a keyed hash of the gateway-provided request address with one-day bucket retention. Operational errors omit purchase keys and receipts. 4. Background operation, control, and retention ---------------------------------------------- Closing the window leaves the logged-in FileWeave process running in the menu bar or system tray. Choosing Quit FileWeave stops it. Optional login startup registers the application with the operating system for your user; it is off by default and is not a logged-out background service. After trial or paid-receipt expiry, FileWeave stops admitting new work. Already admitted operations can finish safely. Pause, Quit, recovery rule export, and turning off login startup remain available when locked. Saved enabled rules are preserved rather than silently erased. Local rule data remains until you change or remove it. Activity is bounded and can be cleared in the application. Removing the app can leave local configuration, receipts, caches, and operating-system permission records behind. Export wanted rules and stop the app before removing its profile. Backups and files already moved, copied, renamed, or trashed are separate from the application profile; deleting that profile does not undo operations. Removing a local receipt does not cancel a purchase or delete the server's original trial record. Mantiqo cannot remotely inspect or erase data stored only in your local profile, selected folders, or backups. 5. Purchases, website, and support --------------------------------- Polar handles payment and purchase recovery for paid Mantiqo desktop offers. Payment and customer records are separate from your local file-automation activity. See https://mantiqo.com/privacy and https://mantiqo.com/terms for website and purchase handling. Reading this notice makes an ordinary request to our Vercel-hosted website. Its hosting provider can process request metadata, including IP addresses and user-agent information.
